NORDIC AMBITIONS LEADERSHIP SEMINAR IN OCTOBER 2023

Welcome to a leadership seminar hosted by the Nordic Ambitions initiative. The event is open for all artistic and administrative leaders in the Nordiskt Teaterledarråd member network (Dansk Teater, NTO, STEFI, Suomen Teatterinjohtajaliitto – Finlands Teaterledarförbund, Svensk Scenkonst) and all Icelandic Theatres. The seminar language is English.

The seminar will take place at Helsinki City Theatre on Tuesday 3 October and it will be streamed live to Nordic participants. To attend, please register here by Thursday 28 September.

Attending in person

If you are attending the seminar at Helsinki City Theatre (Helsingin Kaupunginteatteri, Eläintarhantie 5, main entrance), please arrive at 12:30 local Finnish time for coffee and a chat in the balcony foyer (parvekelämpiö). The program will start at 13:00 sharp.

Attending online

If you register for the online seminar, a link to the live stream will be sent closer to the event. The stream will open 15 minutes prior to the seminar program. The seminar times for the different Nordic regions are:

CET -1h:                11:00–13:30 (Iceland)

CET:                       12:00–14:30 (Denmark, Norway, Sweden)

CET +1h:               13:00–15:30 (Finland)

Program

The seminar will host two keynotes on leadership and an overview of Nordic theatre networks and the Nordic Ambitions initiative.

Reidar Wasenius
Reidar Wasenius is a world-class communicator and trainer with experience in broadcast media, public presentation and education, as well as personal development, brain training, communications, and digital media. He currently works as Chief Creative Officer at Breaks Finland. He is also a frequently used trilingual professional voice, trusted by several Finnish national institutions, municipalities and companies, and a popular keynote speaker and moderator. As a “Personal Brainer”, Reidar teaches people how to exercise the brain effectively and creates training programs for mental development. 

At the Nordic Ambitions leadership seminar Reidar will talk about Self-leadership as the basis of leadership. How do we skillfully lead ourselves towards the goals we have set? How do we motivate others to join a Quest towards common goals?  What does psychology and neurology teach us about how the human minds operates? How do we make decisions? To what extent are we ”rational” or ”emotional”?

Susanna Pettersson
Dr. Susanna Pettersson, CEO of Finnish Cultural Foundation, is an art historian specializing in leadership, culture industries and research. She has worked as Director General at Nationalmuseum, Sweden, Director of the Ateneum Art Museum, Finnish National Gallery, Director of the Finnish Institute in London, Director of the Alvar Aalto Foundation and Museum and Director of Development at the Finnish National Gallery. She is also Adjunct Professor in Museology at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. She has participated in several national public governance and international working groups and is a board member Stiftelsen Nobel Center (Sweden) and Nordean taidesäätiö among others.

At the Nordic Ambitions leadership seminar Susanna will talk about Value of culture in the Nordic countries: reflections from the leadership perspective.
